• Regarding the Bible, I believe the following:
    • I believe that the King James Bible is the inspired, preserved, inerrant, and infallible Word of God in the English Language. I believe that God has miraculously preserved His Word for us, and that we ought to read it, study it, memorize it, and apply it to our lives. (II Timothy 3:16, Isaiah 40:8, Psalm 12:6-7)
  • Regarding the Person of Jesus, I believe the following:
    • His birth: Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, named Mary, according to Old Testament prophecy. (Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:26-27, 34-35, Isaiah 7:14) Jesus was born in Bethlehem, also according to Old Testament prophecy. (Micah 5:2, Matthew 2:1, 5-6)
    • His life: Jesus physically lived on this earth, fully man and fully God at the same time. (Romans 1:3, Galatians 4:4, John 1:1, 10:30, 17:5, 20:28, Matthew 28:18) In His life on earth, Jesus never committed sin. (II Corinthians 5:21)
    • His death: Jesus was falsely accused, unjustly tried, and delivered up to death. (Matthew 26:57-68, 27:11-33, Mark 14:53-65, 15:1-22, Luke 22:54-71, 23:1-26, John 18:19-24, 28-40, 19:1-18) Jesus was crucified and gave up His life on the cross. (Matthew 27:35-50, Mark 15:24-37, Luke 23:33-46, John 19:18-30) When Jesus died, the veil of the temple was ripped from top to bottom, signifying the end of the need for Levitical sacrifices. (Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45) Jesus was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. (Matthew 27:57-60, Mark 15:43-46, Luke 23:50-56, John 19:38-42)
    • His resurrection: Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead, literally and physically, three days and three nights after his death. (Matthew 28:5-6, Mark 16:6, Luke 24:5-7)
    • His ascension and intercessory work in heaven at the present: Jesus Christ bodily ascended into heaven forty days after his resurrection. (Acts 1:3, 9) Jesus is currently at the right hand of God the Father in heaven, making intercession on behalf of Christians. (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25)
    • His coming: Jesus Christ will come to this earth again in the same manner as His ascension up to heaven. (Acts 1:11) Jesus Christ Himself will rule and reign on this earth for a thousand years. (Isaiah 2, 11, Revelation 20:1-7)
  • Regarding the Doctrine of Salvation, I believe the following:
    • How to be saved? A person is saved when he simply puts his faith in Jesus Christ to save him and asks Jesus to save him. (Romans 10:9-13)
    • Who can be saved? Everyone can be saved; “whosoever believeth in him” will be saved. (John 3:16)
    • Why we must be saved? We must be saved because we are all sinners and deserve to go to hell because of our sins. (Romans 3:23, 6:23, Revelation 20:14)
  • Regarding faith and repentance, I believe the following:
    • Faith is a belief in testimony, which is commanded by God and essential to the life of the Christian. (Romans 1:17, II Corinthians 5:7) Faith in God gives “substance” to “things hoped for” and “evidence” to “things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)
    • Repentance, in the general sense, is turning from something to something else (usually from sin and wrong to God and right). Repentance in salvation is turning from trusting one’s self or merit to get to heaven to trusting in Jesus Christ and His vicarious death on the cross and resurrection from the dead to get him to heaven. (Matthew 3:2, Luke 5:32, Acts 2:38, 3:19, 17:30)
  • Regarding heaven and hell, I believe the following:
    • Heaven is a real place where God lives and where the saved will spend eternity. (Deuteronomy 26:15, John 14:2-3, Revelation 21:22-27)
    • Hell is a real place where Satan, his demons, and the unsaved will spend eternity. Hell has literal fire and is a place of torment. (Psalm 9:17, Matthew 13:50, Luke 16:23, 28, Revelation 19:20, 21:8)
  • Regarding the Trinity, I believe the following:
    • God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all equal parts of the One Godhead; they are all God and have all the attributes of God. (Deuteronomy 6:4, I John 5:7) God talked about Himself in the plural sense multiple times in the Bible. (Genesis 1:1, 1:26, 3:22, Isaiah 6:8)
  • Regarding the beginnings of this universe, I believe the following:
    • God literally created the earth, the sun, the moon, the stars, the seas and oceans, plant life, animal life, and human life in six literal days. (Genesis 1) Although there are variations within some species, there never has been “evolution” between species because God made life to reproduce “after their kind.” (Genesis 1:21, 24, 25)
    • Man was created, distinctly from animals, in the image of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)
  • Regarding the Doctrine of the Church, I believe the following:
    • How do you believe the church is to be supported? The church is to be financially supported by the tithes and offerings of its members. (Malachi 3:10, I Corinthians 16:2)
    • What is the church’s ministry to the lost world? The church is to give the Gospel to all the lost world (win souls, baptize those who get saved, and teach those who get saved). (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15)
    • What is the church’s ministry to the saints or believers? The church is to encourage and exhort believers in Christ to do that which the Bible says is right. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Regarding the local church’s two ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, I believe the following:
    • Baptism is the complete immersion of a saved person in water in obedience to Christ’s command. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 8:36-38, 10:48) Salvation is by grace through faith only, so baptism does not and cannot save anyone from their sins, nor is it a part of salvation. (Acts 8:36-38, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7)
    • The Lord’s Supper is an outward symbol, commanded by Christ, done in the assembled church to remind us of Christ’s death and our dependence on him. (Matthew 26:26-28, I Corinthians 11:23-26) Only Christians are to partake in the Lord’s Supper, and those active in gross sin should not partake of the Lord’s Supper. (I Corinthians 11:27-31) Again, salvation is by grace through faith only, so partaking in the Lord’s Supper does not and cannot save anyone from their sins, nor is it a part of salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7)
  • Regarding Christ’s Rapture of the Church and Second Coming, I believe the following:
    • Rapture: Christ will meet all the saved in the air and take them with Him to spend eternity with him in heaven before the Tribulation. (I Thessalonians 4:13-17) The rapture is imminent. There are no events preceding or signs of the rapture that have not already occurred. (Philippians 3:20-21, Titus 2:11-13)
    • Tribulation: People on earth after the rapture will suffer the outpouring of God’s wrath during the seven-year Tribulation, if they are able to survive all seven years. (Daniel 9:24-27, Revelation 6-19) The Antichrist will make a peace treaty with the world and will rule the world during the Tribulation. (II Thessalonians 2:3-10)
    • Millennium: Christ will return to this earth before the beginning of the Millennium and will rule on this earth for the thousand years. (Genesis 12:1-3, Jeremiah 30:1-3, II Samuel 7:12-16, Jeremiah 31:31)
  • Regarding Christian separation, I believe the following:
    • The Christian is not to be yoked up with unbelievers and is to be separate from the world (worldly people and activities), if he is to be right with God while on this earth. (II Corinthians 6:14-18, Titus 2:14, I Peter 2:9)
    •  God’s people are to be holy and sanctified from sin. (Leviticus 11:44, I Peter 1:15-16)
  • Regarding the eternal security of the believer, I believe the following:
    • Once a person is saved from sin, that person is always saved from sin and never again can be lost because the everlasting life received from Jesus Christ is everlasting; everlasting life does not and cannot end. (John 3:16, 5:24, 6:37)
    • A person cannot lose his salvation, nor can anyone take it from him. (John 10:27-29, Romans 8:32-39)
